Collection: Carlos Franco
Carlos Franco (Madrid, 1951). Spanish painter, assigned to the new Madrid figuration that emerged in the seventies of the last century.
Carlos Franco's painting is characterized by the attraction that the symbolic motifs of classical mythology or the unconscious produce in him. Since his first works, in which there are direct references to the great artists of the past, including the nineteenth-century Delacroix and Ingres, Franco has experimented with the juxtaposition of images and the voluptuousness of color, an experimentation that has led him to his recent work to investigate pictorial media and techniques, including digital media combined with manual media.
