Collection: Carlos Gonçalves

Carlos Gonçalves (Manteigas, Portugal, 1953) graduated in 1980 with a degree in Engraving at the National School of Graphic Arts in Madrid, and four years later he attended the Current Art workshop directed by Antonio López García at the BBAA Circle in Madrid. He studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Madrid, where he graduated in 1987.
He has participated in numerous group exhibitions such as, among others, at the Levy Gallery, the Conde Duque Cultural Center and the Nolde Gallery.


He has won numerous awards such as the First Prize of the II Ford Painting Contest in 1985, the Second Prize of the VI Máximo Ramos International Engraving Prize, (Ferrol) and the Carmen Arozena Engraving Prize.


In addition, it is represented in numerous private and public collections. Highlights include the Museum of Contemporary Graphic Art (Fredrikstad, Norway), the Contemporary Graphic Fond (Cluj, Romania) and the National Library in Madrid.
