Collection: Gonzalo Chillida

Gonzalo Chillida Juantegui (San Sebastián, January 12, 1926 - Ib., July 5, 2008) was a Spanish painter, brother of the sculptor Eduardo Chillida. He is considered one of the best representatives of lyrical abstraction in Spanish painting.

His work, shown over the years in individual and collective national and foreign exhibitions, is represented in museums and public and private collections, among which the Artium of Vitoria, the San Sebastián City Hall, the British Museum of London, the Andalusian Center of Contemporary Art in Seville, the BBVA Collection in Madrid, the Col·lecció Testimoni de La Caixa in Barcelona, ​​the Provincial Council of Guipúzcoa, the Juan March Foundation in Madrid, the Valencian Institute of Modern Art in Valencia, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Lanzarote, the Museum of Fine Arts of Bilbao, the Museum of Spanish Abstract Art of Cuenca and the San Telmo Museum of San Sebastián.2 His professional career was recognized in 2001 with the award of the Gold Medal of Fine Arts by the Ministry of Culture of Spain.
