Collection: Guillermo Vargas Ruíz

Guillermo Vargas Ruiz (Bollullos de la Mitación, province of Seville, June 7, 1910-Madrid, 1990), was a Spanish painter, engraver and teacher.

In 1945 he was awarded the Painting Prize in the National Competitions; In 1948 he achieved a Third Medal from the National Exhibition of Fine Arts; in 1952 he achieved a Second Medal; In 1960 he won the Seville Provincial Council Award at the Autumn Exhibition of the Royal Academy; In 1961, he won the Gold Medal from the Círculo de Bellas Artes of Madrid, at the Salón de Grabado; In 1962, he was awarded the Prize of the Provincial Council of La Coruña, in the Drawing section of the National Fine Arts; in 1964 he obtained the March Foundation Pension; In 1972 he was awarded the Medal of Honor from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Santa Isabel of Hungary, at the Autumn Exhibition in Seville.
