Collection: Hector JB Carybe
Héctor Julio Páride Bernabó or Carybé (Lanús, Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, February 7, 1911 - Salvador de Bahía, Brazil, October 2, 1997) was a painter, engraver, draftsman, illustrator, ceramist, sculptor, muralist, Argentine researcher, historian and journalist who settled in Brazil and adopted Brazilian nationality.
As with Miami's diverse culture, Carybé's art in many ways reflects the city's multi-ethnic flavor. His work is infused with the vibrant colors, rich culture and mystical religious traditions of Bahia, Brazil.
His celebration of life and respect for cultural diversity are qualities he shares with the Miami community and make Miami International Airport the perfect home for his murals.
