José Guerrero

José Guerrero (Granada, October 27, 1914-Barcelona, ​​December 23, 1991) was a Spanish nationalized American painter and printmaker, framed within abstract expressionism.

There are works by Guerrero in the Guggenheim Museum in New York, in the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (Madrid) and in the Museum of Spanish Abstract Art (Cuenca). In Granada there is an art center that bears his name, Centro José Guerrero, inaugurated in 2000, with funds belonging to the family collection, which he gave to the Provincial Council of Granada.

In 2017, the catalog raisonné of his graphic work was published, José Guerrero, Obra graphica: catalog raisonné, 1950-1991, ISBN 978-84-7807-587-4.
