José Manuel Broto Gimeno (Zaragoza 1949) is a Spanish painter.

Born in Zaragoza in 1949. He studied at the Zaragoza School of Arts and Crafts. In 1972 he went to live in Barcelona, ​​in 1985 he moved his residence to Paris. After ten years in the French capital during which he coincided with other Spanish artists such as Miquel Barceló, Miguel Ángel Campano, José María Sicilia, he moved to Mallorca.

He has been awarded the National Prize for Plastic Arts of Spain in 1995. In 1997 he received the ARCO Prize from the Association of Critics, in 2003 the Aragón Goya Prize for Engraving2 and in 2018 he obtained the Xam Prize for Plastic Arts in tribute to Pedro Quetglas Ferrer "Xam".

His work can be found in various museums and collections around the world.
