Collection: Piero Dorazio

Piero Dorazio (Rome, June 29, 1927 - Perugia, May 17, 2005) was an Italian painter, whose work is notable for the use of color, lyrical abstraction and other forms of abstract art.

His personality was "independent and saying things up front", it was the "opposite of politically correct". He is especially known for his paintings characterized by wide bands of bright, reticulated color. His paintings, although abstract, were not devoid of detail or complexity. His style falls within what Clement Greenberg later called "Post-painterly Abstraction."
