This work perfectly reflects the fantastic universe and imagination that underlie the iconography and Mironian style. In Gat i ma the artist continues to materialize his aesthetic concerns in a very personal iconography of signs. On a neutral background, an infinite and unlimited space, there is a black cat that, in a dominant position, surrounds a multicolored bird.

The oversized eye of the feline seems to engulf a prey whose oval eye expresses naivety and tenderness. To limit this obvious scenario, the hand of the painter-poet tries to restore peace; a shamanic hand that has its roots in Paleolithic art and that guarantees respect and inviolability.

Another recurring sign also appears here in Miró's work, the eight-pointed star that dominates the scene. Symbol of peace and eternity and here it reinforces the action of that saving hand that preserves the fate of the bird.
