Original Graphic Work numbered and hand signed by the artist.
The human figure is a central theme in Giacomelti's work. Over the years, he creates works inspired by the people around him, mainly his brother Diego, his wife Annette, lovers and friends. Giacometti's ideas on how to approach the human figure have become fundamental issues in contemporary art for subsequent generations of artists.
After experimenting with surreal or abstract drawing techniques, the artist returned to a more traditional technique: painting from nature, something he practiced until his death. The compulsive sketches that the artist makes daily are an exercise in searching for the truth in representation.
"For me, sculpture, painting and drawing have always been means to understand my own vision of the outside world, above all, of the face and the whole human being. Or, put more simply, of my fellow human beings. and above all, those who for one reason or another believe more in me."
