Dream and Lie by Franco is a set of 18 small vignette-like images that Pablo Picasso etched on two copper plates, between January and June 1937. It is closely related to the famous painting Guernica and is considered the first work by Franco. Picasso with clearly political content, as a denunciation against the Spanish civil war and against Francisco Franco.

The "Dream and Lie of Franco I" series is an example of Picasso's political commitment through his art and his ability to address contemporary issues with acuity and criticism.
