Álvaro delgado

Folder with twelve lithographs and texts by Rafael Alberti. Of the thirty characters that appear in the lower or ground plane of Domenico Theotocópuli's painting called "The Burial of the Count of Orgaz", only nineteen have been chosen by Álvaro Delgado as objects of plastic and psychological research. It is known that the painting was painted to order and that it represents the burial of Don Gonzalo Ruiz de Toledo, Lord of the Villa de Orgaz and benefactor of the church, who died in 1323 and who, according to pious tradition, was personally placed in the tomb by Saint Stephen and Saint Augustine, in reward for their many works of charity.
