Collection: Andrés Barajas

Andrés Barajas (Huelma, Jaén, 1941) Spanish painter and engraver. Most of his work is dedicated to graphic work.

His family moved to Madrid in 1952 and in 1958, Andrés began his artistic studies at the School of Applied Arts and Artistic Trades, later completing his training at the Círculo de Bellas Artes.1

He traveled through Europe in the 70s where he was influenced by the expressionist movement. During the eighties he began his activity as a professor of Mural Painting at the School of Applied Arts and Artistic Trades.2

His works are inspired by the world of bullfighting, with a different vision from that provided by other artists, introducing women as a modern version of the myth of the abduction of Europe.
